Prepare Biochemistry for GATE BT

To start the preparation of biochemistry, you have the print of syllabus with you. After that, we have to look for standard books or study material to study the respective topics in the syllabus (hard copy or soft copy). Syllabus

Biomolecules - structure and function; Biological membranes - structure, membrane channels and pumps, molecular motors, action potential, and transport processes;

Basic concepts and regulation of the metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids, amino acids, and nucleic acids; Photosynthesis, respiration and electron transport chain.

Enzymes - Classification, catalytic and regulatory strategies; Enzyme kinetics - Michaelis -Menten equation; Enzyme inhibition - competitive, non-competitive and uncompetitive inhibition.

Question bank

After completion of the topic, you have to do as many questions to know how many types of questions can come from that single topic. for that, you can use Vidyasagar biochemistry (click here) book or buy a chapter-wise book on GATE biotechnology. 

If you are serious enough, You must have to purchase chapter-wise(GK publication) or PYQ(Arhihant) hard copy. 

Mock test

If you purchase PYQ of Arhihant, there will be 10 mock test. After your complete revision, you should have to buy any test series (biotechnika) hard copy or soft copy based on your interest. Note down the mistake while doing test series and work on your weak point. Don't learn any new topic in last months.

Revision

Revise only by your short notes. Don't study any new topic. GATE is an engineering graduate exam so you should expect  numerical and conceptual based question mainly from protein and amino acid charges, bioenergetics, enzyme kinetics, etc. Questions are mostly based on enzyme kinetics, pathways, and bioenergetics. So revise all the formulas and do some questions based on this topics.
